The Natron® SS Silicone Ink Thinner (Diluent) works with all of our Natron® Silicone Inks. Additionally, the SS is compatible with all platinum-based inks as well as LSR silicone applications. You can use our silicone inks for screen printing, pad printing, spraying, color-filling, or painting by simply altering the viscosity of the ink.
Different applications require different ink viscosities. Therefore, different applications require different mixing starting points. However, there is no set ratio for adding diluent/thinner; instead, experiment to determine the best ratio for your application. After thoroughly mixing the catalyst and base (ink), add the diluent/thinner.
The thinner or diluent won’t adversely affect the system’s adhesion. Lastly, use the SS solvent in dry and hot environments because it acts as a retarder. It slows down the silicone ink drying time, keeping the inks wet for longer.
SS Solvent characteristics:
- The ink remains moist for an extended period when printing on a pad or screen.
- Increases the ink’s pot life.
- It promotes screen stability and improves ink printability.
