SE-F Medical Grade Silicone Ink for Medical Devices

Natron® SE-F Medical Grade Silicone Ink

Natron® SE-F Medical Grade Silicone Ink

The Natron® SE-F Medical Grade Silicone Ink is formulated for silicone products that are used in demanding medical environments. The Natron® SE-F ink bonds permanently to silicone devices and products for superior longevity and durability. It is certified safe for use in medical practice.

The Natron® SE-F medical grade silicone ink is a 2-component ink requiring hardener and solvent that is suitable for pad printing, screen printing, and spray coating. It can be used to mark silicone tubing, LSR-molded medical devices, and more. You can be assured of a durable, opaque print on any silicone product.

This medical grade silicone ink has medical Class VI certification and meets the requirements of the GLP Class VI Test (USP). It also meets the current FDA 21 CFR, Part 58 GLP technical requirements. The nontoxic, triple-milled, fade-resistant pigmentation delivers stunning HD prints.

There are 22 standard colors – more than any other medical grade silicone ink on the market. Additionally, we offer 24-hour turnaround custom color matching services for any color you request. To create new shades, you can mix any two or more colors to create over 1,600 PMS colors. Mixing the colors together does not affect the ink adhesion.

Additives

The SE-F medical grade silicone ink must be use with LG Catalyst and SF Solvent.

First, add the catalyst to the ink. For every 20 parts of the ink, add 1 part of the LG catalyst. Mix the ink and the catalyst.

Then, add the SF Solvent to alter the viscosity if the ink-catalyst mixture is too thick for a specific application. SF Solvent is an environmentally-friendly, fast drying thinner. Only use SF Solvent with the SE-F medical grade silicone ink – using any other solvents will affect printing quality, compliance and adhesion of the ink.

There is no set ratio when adding thinner (solvent). We recommend using the guidelines on the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and adjusting from there for your application. For pad printing, add 5-60% of the ink’s weight. For screen printing, add 0-10% of the ink’s weight. For spray coating, add 300-500% of the ink’s weight.

Reminder: thinner will have absolutely no adverse effect on the adhesion of the ink to the substrate so, use as much as you need for your application as per the guidelines.

Note, the ink-hardener-solvent mixture is chemically reactive and must be processed within 10-14 hours.

To dry and cure the printed product, use heat. Put the printed product in an oven for 2-6 minutes at 200-400°F (2 minutes at 250°F).
